Project Background
An international client needed to transport a shipment of 82 pieces of IT equipment valued at approximately US$1,000,000 from China to Brazil, and complete the relocation and end-of-life treatment of some of the equipment locally. The project involved not only cross-border logistics, but also complex customs clearance procedures, local transportation and compliant equipment disposal.
Project Challenges
Complex cross-border logistics: need to handle air transportation from China to Brazil, including pickup, packing, documentation, booking and so on.
Cumbersome customs clearance: Brazilian import customs clearance procedures are strict, requiring accurate documentation and compliance with local laws and regulations.
Local Transportation Coordination: Completing the handling of equipment within Brazil requires close communication with the person in charge of the machine room to ensure that the equipment arrives safely at the designated location.
Compliant Waste Disposal: According to the customer's requirements, some of the equipment will be scrapped and need to comply with local environmental regulations.
IT equipment disposal: After the transportation was completed, we disposed of 20 pieces of equipment (500 kg) and a number of rails and wires according to the client's requirements, ensuring that all the disposal processes were in compliance with Brazil's environmental regulations.
Project Result
The whole project took only 40 working days from the pick-up in China to the scrapping of the equipment in Brazil, and the project was delivered on schedule.
